Goldmoor Inn & Resort - Galena

Too bad that we didn't have time, but we will choose it for sure for next trip. Everything was first-class, loved our amazing stay. The hotel room was decent sized with an adjoining spa tub.

The morning breakfast was delicious with fresh fruit, crisp bacon. The hotel room was a decent size by the fire place again. Location: the property was very close to Galena and the Mississippi River tour, Illinois and the river, and the bald eagles often seen soaring high above.

I stayed in the Bungalow, Water Front for two nights. The view of the Mississippi River from my room was fine. Cleanliness stood out. Everything sparkled. The staff was attentive and genuinely friendly. They even provided a wake-up call without me asking, which was like a nice touch. Breakfast was delivered to my room every morning, piping hot and delicious. The jacuzzi tub in my room offered a perfect way to unwind. A minor downside, the grounds near the EV chargers lacked adequate lighting at night, which could be risky for those arriving late. This didn't overshadow my overall experience.

During my two-night stay, we enjoyed morning walks at Casper Bluff Land and Water Reserve and easily spent afternoons exploring downtown Galena's charming streets filled with historic architecture and good shops.

The suite with balcony was super spacious, clean, and cozy. The bathroom had nice toiletries and a hot tub with amazing views of the rolling hills. Breakfast was delivered with fresh cookies every morning and we even had dinner at the chef's table which was a good experience. Staff were attentive and friendly.
